Michaela is an educational consultant, coach and literacy leader with decades of teaching experience. She has worked as an education leader in Canada as well as in Australia. In her current role as an instructional practice coach for Cambridge Education as well as an independent consultant, Michaela helps to develop teachers’ knowledge and practical implementation of effective practices, particularly in the area of literacy pedagogy. For example, Michaela can take teachers through reading benchmark assessments and reference these with other data-sources, such as NAPLAN, ACER’s Pat-R, On Demand Tests or eWrite assessments. She can help teachers make meaningful links to the Victorian Curriculum Standards, including any aspect of the recommended practices outlined in DET’s Literacy Portal. Moreover, Michaela can offer guidance in the embedding of instructional practices that are in line with the FISO Model.
